Are you paid in a foreign currency?
Your employer has probably never mentioned the fact that you’re paid in another currency. They no doubt simply transfer your wages straight into your bank account. This could be losing you money without you even realizing.
- You may not have even realized, but if you’re company is based abroad, you’re probably paid in a foreign currency.
- If your employer pays you directly into your bank, therefore allowing the bank to do the foreign exchange transfer, you could be losing between 1-5%.
- By asking your employer to pay your Euros (an example currency) to an foreign exchange provider first, you will get a much more competitive rate and therefore your wage packet will look a lot more healthy.
